Best Published Research Paper (2025-2026)
The Best Published Research Paper Award recognizes exemplary original research published between January 1st, 2025 and June 30th, 2026 by a neurosurgeon or neurosurgery resident trainee of Pakistan. Only original articles published in peer-reviewed, indexed journals are eligible for consideration. Conferred at the 39th Pakistan Society of Neurosurgery Annual Conference, the award is instituted to cultivate and reinforce a robust culture of clinician-scientist engagement, academic rigor, and scholarly excellence within the neurosurgical fraternity. It seeks to honor research that demonstrates methodological robustness, intellectual originality, and substantive clinical relevance, with particular resonance to the healthcare landscape and neurosurgical needs of Pakistan.
The award does not incorporate quantitative metrics such as citation counts, h-index, or platform-based indicators (e.g., ResearchGate or similar indices) into the scoring system. These measures are often time-dependent, variable across platforms, and may not accurately reflect the true scientific quality or clinical value of recently published work. Instead, the evaluation focuses on methodological rigor, originality, and meaningful clinical impact, ensuring a fair and merit-based assessment of all submissions.
